Our five-headed party slipped into the curb-side dining area of Roma Antica shortly after 6:00 p.m. on a Friday, without waiting, we just hit the masses! Others settled quickly and were welcomed by our same merciful and passionate waiter. The ambience outside became a bit chaotic at times with so many passersby, but was cute and cozy under the heat lamps. The food was incredibly a companion 's best lasagna ever and my personal best pizza ever with the prosciutto pizza. Will definitely go back.

We thought it was an authentic Italian place, but it did not meet our expectations. The food took forever to come. Gnocchi was so mild and had no taste or even a hint of basil and pine nuts. Pizza crust was so thick? We thought Dessert was worth it, but they gave Tiramisu up in plastic cups with so much mascara? There were no layers or coffee flavors. The ambience was also not authentic? fake plants on the table were just more space on already small table. Our server looked at our table several times and did not bring our order in time. It was only below expectations according to the price we paid. Come on.

I had the best Italian food so far, especially in SF! For dinner with a group we sat fast and the host was very nice. The staff is very enthusiastic and attentive. Food is moderately expensive, especially for location and quality. Table bread was soft and padded, and the actual meals were so delicious, perfect portions! Top Spot for SF in my eyes: Also the guy with the giant pepper shaker was creepy?

A very funny place with great music, food and service. We were looking for a good Italian food on Saturday night. This facility has not disappointed with delicious calfs and an incredible oxtail pasta with Pappardelle noodles.

Best Italian food I?ve had in SF in a while (I also haven?t lived in the Bay in a while). Carbonara was fantastic. Roman pizza was better than the one I had in Rome. Will be back!

Went with a friend who recommended Roma Antica she said they made fresh pasta and I was sold. I had never had fresh pasta before so I was really excited to try it out. The pasta was DELICIOUS. I finished my plate in the one sitting which is rare for me to do at restaurants because I always seem to either get full or have some stomach issues such as bloating and stomach pain, but not this time. It?s a testament to the quality of the food. It?s authentic Roman cuisine. I had the pasta with black pepper and I?ve seen chefs make it on tv, but didn?t think I would actually have a chance to try it fresh, it was genuinely one of the best dishes I?ve ever had. Come to think of it I probably should have asked to thank and see the chef, next time! Whoever you are I love you!!! The pasta was divine! I also ordered the beet salad because I love beets and they were great too. We were also given complimentary bread but we finished it before we could take a picture. They refilled the basket three times but we ate it all (this was for four people) it was that good.

Roma Antica, ancient Rome, is a lovely, lively and vibrant restaurant. Delicious food and wonderful Italian wine list. Service is wonderful, very attentive, and interactive. Thank you Alessao for a wonderful and delicious evening.

Fabulous authentic Italian restaurant in the Marina!!! Cozy stylish interior with twice as much outdoor seating, underneath the most solidly constructed roof covering I've seen, with heat lamps and blankets to keep guests warm. All the food was fantastic and baked from scratch in house, with lots of salads, pastas, pizzas, and desserts to choose from. Even the bread they bring you to start was some of the most delicious I've ever had. The staff were very friendly and super attentive to our every need. The place was packed and there was a long line, but there are lots of tables so the wait wasn't too bad and they have a great text system that lets you track your place in line, so you can walk around the Marina or to the water while you wait. And the prices were reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! I'll absolutely be going back and will bring my dad, who's from Italy, as I know he'll love it.
